The Merger is a collection of cartoons focused on charting the rise of neo-liberalism in New Zealand. The mainstream media were typically uncritical of their new political masters, however, there were organisations and publications that gave voice to much needed critiques and discussions. Cartoons throughout this zine were produced for these groups, such as Corso, Treaty Times, LOOSE, The Big Picture, and CAFCA, and include a number of themes employed through humor, with, and sometimes, outright scathing skill. A great visual zine for the collection.
